The boys and I worked so hard we had to have an icecream break.....
Richard got a brain freeze..I had to laugh from the face he made...Love my baby.

Christmas Angel

This is my second Christmas angel..The first one was just like this..My son, Donnie, shoveled snow one Christmas break and took the money he made and bought the first one...It became so old and tattered he bought a new one in its place.I love my Christmas Angel...

Old Friends

Quote of the day

"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby... If you give her a house, she'll give you a home... If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal...If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart...She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her...Sooooo, If you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

And that my friends....is a big-o "Hell Yeah!"

"Happy Birthday" Dad....Two of the most influential men in my life....Today would have been Dad's birthday...I miss him so very much....He was born Dec.1, 1917...He would have been 92 today....And my Gayle has been gone from this life sixteen years this month...The two of them are greatly missed...I know they are together on the other side...

Life's Tough

Life's tough...It's even tougher if you are stupid.
John Wayne

Comment on Life

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain. The Joy is in the journey.

Thanksgiving, a time for reflection and thankfulness

Thanksgiving, my most favorite holiday of all...
It is a time of year when I can look back over the year and think of all the things that I have to be thankful for..
I am so thankful I have a home...So many don't.
I am thankful for each and every meal..So many don't have one.
I am thankful for my health...So many don't have good health.
I am thankful for our big family..So many have no one.
I am so thankful for each and every day...The Lord has blessed me so richly..
I am so thankful to wake up each morning and think today is a new day...Now what can I get into....Thank You "Lord" for all my blessings...Many blessing to you and yours...

Ashes to Ashes

You have heard of ashes to ashes...Dust to dust....Well, there is somebody either coming or going in my house...I am ashamed to see how much dust and dirt that has acumulated in one season...I had some help today...Thank you Lord for sisters and a Mom...They came to help me today moving the big pieces....It is definitely cleaner than it was but it is going to take getting use the rearranging part...Now all I need to do is put back all the trimmings...That will be another job that only I can do...But I can take my time...After all I will have all winter to work on it....Maybe I can get it to feel like home again...Thank you girls and Mom....We had a nice day together anyway...

What a Mess!!!!

I can't say there isn't much going on here today...I have started something today that I haven't been able to do all summer...My house had gotten in a complete mess over the summer with so much work to do outside because of the ice storm last winter...I had decided to change things around in here and do the cleaning while I was at it...I am moving my living room to my computer room and moving my computer to what will be the dining room...I don't know how I am going to like it but it is under way...My aim is to simplify..simplify...simplify...I didn't know I had so many books and magazines....I didn't realize how much junk had accumulated...I am downsizing that too...To much dusting...Well wish me luck...And if you come by to visit...well just come on in and I be in here somewhere!!!

Life

Life may not always be the way it is supposed to be.
It's the way you cope that makes the difference.

My Friend and Companion Shami

This is Shami...She is my constant companion when I am out working...I can always look around and she is there...It is funny...She is not my dog but thinks she is...My daughter adopted her from the pound but she took up with me...Nothing moves on the place that she doesn't let me know it...She is very territorial...Everybody wants to know if she will bite but I really don't know...She never has but that don't mean she won't...She is a great help watching my goats...

Inner Peace

As You all know I am a great fan of "Dr. Phil"
By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show,
you too can find inner peace.

Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace
is to finish all the things you have started and have
never finished."

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started
and hadn't finished and before leaving the house,
I finished off a bottle of wine, a bottle of Tequila, a package
of Oreos, and the remainder of my Prozac prescription,
the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates.

You have no idea how good I feel right now...
Here is wishing you inner peace

Hope for a new spring...

It's the beginning of the week....Hoping to get some lime spread today...Winter is coming and I am trying to get things to a stop...There are several things that are a dissappointment but that is life...The barn is not complete but there is always next spring to look forward to...I don't think I can take another winter like the last one...Several times this past summer I have wanted to throw up my hands and quit...With all the tree mess..sawing logs..removing stumps, planting grass...I haven't time for much else..I just hope my health holds up for another spring...Thanks to all my friends and family for all the help and support and words of encouragement....It means a lot...

Time

Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when you
can share it with someone special.
To realize the value of a friend, lose one.

Southern Hospitality

Not a tangible thing, but an attitude which has
been ingrained in southerners forever.
It is a feeling of being sincerely welcomed as a
guest or long lost friend;
a way of life that lets people be as warm as the climate.
It's an easiness in speaking with total strangers
or anyone, a unique friendliness encompassing the whole
way of life in the deep south.
It's not something one does,
it's the way one is
